1. SG Iron Casting

Spheroidal Graphite (SG) Iron — also known as nodular cast iron or ductile iron — is a high-performance cast iron with graphite in a nodular rather than flake structure. The nodules of graphite provide far greater ductility and toughness compared to traditional grey cast iron.
At Austin Alloy Cast Pvt. Ltd., our SG Iron casting service offers:

  • Ability to produce complex castings with reliable mechanical properties such as high impact strength, good fatigue resistance and excellent wear performance (making them ideal for heavy-duty applications)

  • Precision mold control, metallurgical oversight and quality inspection to ensure consistent nodule formation and optimal microstructure

  • Castings suitable for demanding sectors: heavy-earth-moving equipment, automotive driveline components, pumps, valves, and more

  • Full turn-key solution from pattern & mold making to finishing and quality assurance
By choosing our SG Iron casting route, customers benefit from a material that bridges the gap between traditional cast iron and steel — offering improved performance at cost-efficient levels.

2. CI (Cast Iron) Casting

CI Casting” refers to traditional cast iron—typically grey iron or other forms of cast iron. Cast iron is an iron–carbon alloy with higher carbon and silicon content, allowing good castability, excellent damping, and cost advantages.
Our CI Casting offering at Austin Alloy Cast includes:

  • Robust production of grey iron or other standard cast iron grades where high stiffness, good thermal conductivity and lower cost are key considerations

  • Ideal for housing, pump bodies, valves, structural castings, engine blocks and similar applications where ductility is less critical but strength and rigidity matter

  • Advanced foundry equipment, quality testing and finishing ensure the castings meet application requirements

  • Opportunity for value-engineering—leveraging cast iron’s inherent advantages in castability and economy
With our CI casting service you get a cost-effective solution for parts where castability and bulk requirements dominate.

3. SG Casting

In this context, “SG Casting” is essentially the same as SG Iron Casting – spheroidal graphite iron castings. It highlights the nodular graphite microstructure and its desirable properties (as described above under SG Iron Casting).
At Austin Alloy Cast we deliver SG castings that:

  • Enable complex geometry and high performance due to nodular graphite structure

  • Provide high strength, good elongation, excellent fatigue resistance and wear performance

  • Are deployed in critical, heavy-duty applications (gear carriers, differential housings, structural components under cyclic load)
By leveraging our foundry’s expertise in SG casting, customers benefit from enhanced component life, reliability in service and optimized manufacturing.

4. Ductile Iron Casting

Ductile Iron Casting refers explicitly to the production of cast iron in which the graphite is present as spheroids (nodules) rather than flakes — thereby yielding a cast iron with improved ductility, toughness and elongation over conventional cast irons.
For Austin Alloy Cast, our Ductile Iron Casting service encompasses:

  • Careful metallurgical control (including inoculation, nodulizer addition, melt practice) to ensure full nodularity and optimized microstructure

  • Use in high-demand applications: e.g., pump bodies, gears, hubs, off-road equipment frames, structural castings subject to shock or fatigue

  • Integration with machining, heat-treatment (if required) and finishing as part of our value-added service offering

  • Competitive trade-off between cost of cast steel and performance of cast iron—making ductile iron an excellent choice where cast steel may be over-engineered and traditional cast iron under-performing
In sum: our ductile iron castings offer the sweet spot of castability plus high mechanical performance, delivering reliable, cost-effective components for demanding environments.
